State Tony Thurmond encourages districts to continue the fight against chronic absenteeism.
In a news release, he mentions that there are grants and recognition funds available to support Local Control Agencies. “Students of color, foster youth, homeless youth, students with disabilities and students who are in rural areas have some of the highest chronic absenteeism rates in the state,” said Thurmond.
